Bab 7: Save the Earth, Good Habits & My Hobby
This bab covers Units 19β21. Pupils learn the phonemes /ΞΈ/, /Γ°/, /Ε/, /eI/ (ai), /i:/ (ee), /aI/ (igh), and /ΙΚ/ (oa). Topics include saving water, electricity, plastic; good daily habits; and personal hobbies.
Pupils talk about saving water, electricity, and plastic bags:
Turn off the tap when not using it.
Bring your own cloth bag.
Turn off the fans and lights when not in use.

We can save the Earth by: reducing water, electricity, and plastic. The 'th' digraph makes two sounds β voiceless /ΞΈ/ in 'think' and voiced /Γ°/ in 'that'.
Pupils talk about good habits at home and school:
Cut your fingernails.
Eat healthy food.
Greet your parents and teachers.
Keep your things tidy.

A habit is something you do almost every day. Good habits include: throwing rubbish in the bin, sweeping the floor, paying attention in class, and keeping your room clean.

A hobby is something you do for fun in your free time. Examples: reading, baking, painting, dancing, singing, drawing, swimming, and playing chess.

The 'th' spelling makes TWO different sounds in English! The voiceless /ΞΈ/ in 'think', 'three', and 'cloth' β and the voiced /Γ°/ in 'that', 'mother', and 'the'. Try saying them and feel the difference in your throat!
